Following on from the Clubouse history page on this website brings us nicely to the Scottish Coalition which was officially recognised by the ICCD (International Centre for Clubhouse Development) in a letter on the 30th April 2001. In obtaining status as a recognised Coalition, all Scottish Clubhouses agreed to promote the Clubhouse model in Scotland, take part in a three week Clubhouse training and work towards Clubhouse certification.

All Scottish Clubhouses are members of the Coalition and the Coalition aims are:

~ To promote the Clubhouse model in Scotland.

~ To campaign and lobby for better legislation for mental health care in  Scotland.

~ To support and develop new and existing Clubhouses through to formal Clubhouse certification.

~ To maintain the integrity of the Clubhouse model by promoting the International Clubhouse Standards.
